Robotics Engineering
Real engineering, every enrolled day. Students work on VEX robots — building mechanisms, writing code, testing designs, and solving problems as a team, the same way a sport has daily practice.
- Build and program VEX robots hands-on
- Progress from basic builds to competition-level machines
- Coach-led, team-based problem solving
- A clear path onto Blaze Competition Teams
Enrichment Classes
Add the classes your child already loves — or discover something new. Enrichment is scheduled across the week alongside robotics, all in one consistent place.
- 🀄 Chinese Language — conversational Mandarin
- 🥋 Kung Fu — discipline, focus, and confidence
- 🎨 Art — drawing, design, and creative projects
- ♟️ Chess — strategy and pattern recognition
- More to come — our enrichment menu grows with our community. Have a class in mind? Let us know!
Overview
Most families are running between multiple programs every day. A pickup here, a class there, a gap in between. Blaze’s Robotics & Enrichment Program puts it all in one place. Two one-hour blocks per day — robotics engineering and your choice of enrichment — scheduled across the week so your child is always doing something purposeful instead of pulling parents out of busy work and wasting time on the road.
How the Day Works
Each program day is divided into two one-hour blocks, with a transition break in between. Robotics engineering and enrichment classes are both scheduled across these blocks — so the order varies by day depending on your child's personal schedule.
For the convenience of families, we have flexible drop-off & pick-up windows instead of strict start/end times. A typical day (for 5-day Elite students) looks like this:
Class Arrival Window
Students arrive, get settled, and review what's on the agenda for the day.
4:15 – 5:15 pm
Robotics Engineering — or — Enrichment Class
depending on your child's weekly schedule
Snack Break & Transition
Students recharge, switch gears, and move to their next block.
5:30 – 6:30 pm
Robotics Engineering — or — Enrichment Class
depending on your child's weekly schedule
End-of-class Window
30-minute grace period available.

FAQ
What days can we choose for the 3-day plan?
Any three days of the week — Monday through Friday. You'll select your preferred days at enrollment. Changes are possible with advance notice, subject to availability.
How does the block scheduling work exactly?
Each program day has two one-hour blocks — 4:15–5:15 pm and 5:30–6:30 pm. We build your child's personal weekly schedule at enrollment based on their plan, your enrichment choices, and our current class offerings. Robotics is scheduled in at least one block every enrolled day. Enrichment (Plus and Elite plans) fills the other block on enrolled days, rotating across the week based on which classes you've selected.
Can my child take two different enrichment subjects?
Yes — 5-Day Elite students can mix two enrichment subjects across the week by combining Block 1 and Block 2 slots on different days. For example, Kung Fu on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Block 1, and Art on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in Block 2. We'll map this out with you at enrollment.
What is the pickup grace period?
Core plan pickup is at 5:30 pm; Plus and Elite pickup is at 6:30 pm. We offer a 20-minute grace period — so 5:50 pm and 6:50 pm respectively — at no additional charge. We ask families to pick up on time so we can keep the program running smoothly for everyone.
What if my child is having an off day and doesn't feel like building?
Our coaches are experienced at reading the room. On tough days, students may be redirected to other program activities — reviewing the game manual, sketching robot designs, or working on their engineering notebook. Every student stays engaged and purposeful within the program, and our coaches find the right activity for where a student is that day.
How is this different from a Blaze Course or Camp?
Courses and Camps are short-format programs built around a specific skill or time window. The Afterschool Program is a full-season commitment — students show up consistently, build progressively, and work toward real competition-ready robots over months. The flexible block scheduling also means families can consolidate multiple weekly activities into one program.
Can my child move onto a Competition Team from this program?
Yes — and that's one of the goals. Afterschool students who are ready to compete get priority consideration for Blaze Competition Team placement.
Can we change plans during the year?
Yes, with 30 days' notice. You can move between tiers, adjust your 3-day schedule, or change enrichment subjects as your family's needs evolve.
